Leonidas

Leonidas was a king of Sparta, a city-state in ancient Greece, famous for his leadership during the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BCE. He led a small, brave group of Greek soldiers—known as Spartans—and allies against a much larger Persian army. Despite being outnumbered, Leonidas and his troops fought valiantly to defend their homeland. His bravery and sacrifice have become symbols of courage, strategic resolve, and standing firm against overwhelming odds, inspiring stories of heroism throughout history.
