Leonardo of Pisa
Leonardo of Pisa, also known as Fibonacci, was an Italian mathematician from the 12th century who introduced the Western world to the Hindu-Arabic numeral system and innovative mathematical concepts. His most famous work, "Liber Abaci," demonstrated how these numerals could simplify calculations compared to Roman numerals. Fibonacci is also known for the Fibonacci sequence, a series where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones, which appears in nature and mathematics. His contributions significantly advanced mathematics and commerce, influencing data calculation, number theory, and algorithms still relevant today.
