Leon Trotsky (Lev Davidovich Bronstein)
Leon Trotsky, born Lev Davidovich Bronstein, was a revolutionary Marxist leader and thinker who played a key role in the Russian Revolution of 1917. He was a close ally of Vladimir Lenin and helped establish the Soviet Union. Trotsky championed the idea of "permanent revolution," advocating for ongoing global socialist efforts. However, after Lenin’s death, he clashed with Joseph Stalin, leading to his exile and eventual assassination in 1940.
