Lens reversal technique
Lens reversal is a photographic technique where a camera lens is mounted backwards, meaning the front of the lens is attached to the camera body where the rear normally is. This method allows for macro photography—close-up shots of tiny subjects—by increasing magnification and detail. Since the reversed lens captures more detail at close distance, photographers can take sharp images of small objects like insects or flowers without using specialized macro lenses. It’s an affordable way to achieve high magnification, but it requires additional accessories like a reversed ring to connect the lens securely to the camera.
