Lens Mount

A lens mount is the mechanical and electronic interface that connects a camera to its lens. It ensures the lens fits securely and aligns correctly with the camera's image sensor, enabling proper focus, zoom, and image stabilization. Different camera brands often have their own mounts, which means lenses designed for one brand may not fit others without an adapter. The lens mount also transmits electronic signals between the camera and lens, allowing for automatic focus and aperture control. In essence, it’s the bridge that securely links the lens to the camera body, facilitating optimal image capture and functionality.
