Lens Flare
Lens flare occurs when bright light sources, like the sun or a powerful lamp, shine directly into a camera lens. This causes internal reflections and scattering of light within the lens elements, producing visible artifacts such as streaks, rings, or glow in the captured image. While sometimes deliberately added for artistic effect, lens flare can also be an unwanted distraction that reduces image contrast and clarity. It is influenced by lens design, angle of the light, and filter usage, and can be minimized with lens hoods or specific camera settings.
