LEM (Lunar Excursion Module)

The Lunar Excursion Module (LEM), more commonly called the Lunar Module, was a spacecraft designed during the Apollo program to land astronauts on the Moon and return them safely to orbit. It had two stages: a descent stage for landing and a climb stage to lift astronauts back to the command module in lunar orbit. Built specifically for lunar missions, it provided life support, propulsion, and navigation. The LEM was essential for exploring the Moon's surface, allowing humans to perform scientific experiments and collect samples, ultimately advancing our understanding of the lunar environment and space exploration.
