Legislative Council of Zambia

The Legislative Council of Zambia was the colonial-era governing body established during British rule, responsible for making laws and advising the governor. It evolved into Zambia’s modern Parliament, representing the people’s interests, passing legislation, and overseeing government actions. Today, Zambia’s Parliament is a democratic institution composed of elected members who debate and create laws to govern the country, replacing the colonial Legislative Council.
