Legislative Bill
A legislative bill is a proposal for a new law or a change to an existing law that is introduced to a government’s law-making body, such as Congress or Parliament. It is carefully written out and reviewed, often with input from experts and the public. Once approved by a majority of lawmakers and signed by an authorized official, the bill becomes law and is enforced by the government. Essentially, a bill is the formal process lawmakers use to create or modify laws that govern society.
