Legionnaire's Disease

Legionnaire's Disease is a serious respiratory infection caused by bacteria called Legionella, often found in water systems like cooling towers, hot tubs, and plumbing. People can get infected by inhaling tiny water droplets that contain the bacteria. Symptoms include cough, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing, which can become severe, particularly in older adults or those with weakened immune systems. While it can be serious, it is treatable with antibiotics. Preventing it involves maintaining clean water systems and avoiding environments where the bacteria might thrive.
