According to the legend, during a 13th-century rivalry between Florence and Siena, a Florentine envoy on a journey was warned by a black rooster to leave Siena at dawn to avoid danger. Trusting the rooster’s call, he escaped just in time, helping Florence succeed in a battle. The black rooster became a symbol of vigilance, strength, and the region’s proud heritage, and it is now featured on the Chianti Classico wine label, signifying authenticity and quality.
