Legal Standing

Legal standing refers to the ability of a person or entity to demonstrate to the court that they have a sufficient connection to and are affected by the matter at hand. To have standing, a party must typically show that they have suffered a concrete injury or harm, that the issue is traceable to the actions of the opposing party, and that a court can provide a remedy for the injury. Essentially, it determines whether someone is entitled to bring a lawsuit or participate in a legal proceeding based on their stake in the outcome.
