Left Ventriculography
Left ventriculography is a diagnostic procedure used to visualize the left ventricle, the heart's main pumping chamber. During the test, a catheter is inserted into a blood vessel, usually in the groin or arm, and guided to the heart. A special dye is injected into the ventricle, and X-ray images are taken to assess the chamber's size, shape, and how well it contracts. This helps doctors evaluate heart function, detect areas of damage or weakness, and plan appropriate treatment for conditions like heart failure or coronary artery disease.
