left-right asymmetry

Left-right asymmetry refers to the natural differences between the left and right sides of the body and brain. For example, the heart is slightly on the left side, and the brain's language centers are usually in the left hemisphere. These asymmetries develop during embryonic growth and are important for function and coordination. They are caused by genetic, developmental, and environmental factors, leading to specialized roles and structures on each side, which help us perform complex activities efficiently.
