Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB)
Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB) is a condition where the electrical signals that control the heartbeat's left side are delayed or blocked. Normally, these signals travel quickly through specialized pathways, ensuring the heart's chambers beat in sync. In LBBB, the left ventricle (the heart's main pumping chamber) receives the signal late, causing the heart to beat less efficiently and irregularly. It can be caused by heart disease, high blood pressure, or damage to the heart tissue. LBBB is often identified on an EKG and may indicate underlying heart issues needing further evaluation.
