Lefebvrism
Lefebvrism is a traditionalist Catholic movement founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre that emphasizes preserving older church teachings, liturgy, and clergy training, often resisting changes introduced after the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965). It advocates for maintaining the Latin Mass and traditional practices, sometimes rejecting modern reforms. Lefebvrism seeks to uphold what its followers see as the authentic Catholic faith and discipline, emphasizing reverence, orthodoxy, and continuity with historical church doctrine. While generally in communion with the Vatican, it often contends with church authorities over issues of liturgical reform and doctrinal changes.
