Leeuwenhoek (Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, eminent person)
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek was a Dutch scientist in the 17th century who is often called the "Father of Microbiology." He built powerful microscopes for his time and was the first to observe and describe tiny organisms, such as bacteria and protists, which are invisible to the naked eye. His detailed drawings and discoveries greatly advanced our understanding of the microscopic world, laying the groundwork for modern microbiology and medicine. Leeuwenhoek’s work helped us see the vast, unseen universe of microorganisms that influence health, environments, and various biological processes.
