League of Empire Loyalists

The League of Empire Loyalists was a British advocacy group formed in the 1950s that strongly supported the British Empire and wanted to maintain its global influence. They opposed decolonization, such as independence movements in Africa and Asia, and criticized policies they saw as weakening Britain’s imperial power. The group consisted mainly of former politicians, military personnel, and conservatives who believed in preserving Britain’s global commitments and traditional values. Their goal was to resist the decline of the British Empire and promote a sense of national pride and continuation of Britain's overseas influence.
