LCS (Littoral Combat Ship)
The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a small, agile naval vessel designed for operations close to shore, or "littoral" zones. Its modular design allows it to be quickly reconfigured for different missions, such as surface combat, anti-submarine warfare, or mine countermeasures. LCSs are built for speed, flexibility, and adaptability, enabling the Navy to respond quickly to regional threats, conduct surveillance, and support allied operations near coastlines. They are less heavily armed than larger ships but are highly versatile, serving as a rapid-response platform suitable for a wide range of modern naval tasks.
