LBNF/DUNE
LBNF (Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility) and DUNE (Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment) are large-scale scientific projects designed to study elusive particles called neutrinos. Neutrinos are fundamental particles that pass through matter almost undetected, providing clues about the universe's fundamental forces and the nature of matter itself. The facility will generate intense neutrino beams at Fermilab in Illinois and send them 1,300 kilometers through the Earth to a massive detector deep underground in South Dakota. Researchers aim to understand neutrino properties, why matter dominates over antimatter, and to explore physics beyond current theories.
