Layered Structure of Cortex

The cortex, or the brain's outer layer, has a layered structure with six main levels, each containing different types of cells and connections. These layers work together to process information, like sensory input and thoughts. The layers closer to the surface mainly receive signals from the body and senses, while deeper layers send out information to other brain parts or the body. This organized structure helps the brain efficiently interpret and respond to the world around us.
