Layer 6 (Presentation)
Layer 6, known as the Presentation layer, acts as a translator and formatter in data communication. It converts data into a format both sender and receiver understand, handling tasks like encryption, decryption, compression, and data serialization. This layer ensures that information sent from one device can be properly interpreted and displayed by another, regardless of differences in hardware or software. For example, it manages how images, text, or videos are encoded so they appear correctly on your screen. Essentially, it makes sure the data is presentable and secure during transmission.
