Laughing gas
Laughing gas, officially called nitrous oxide, is a colorless, non-flammable gas used in medical and dental settings as a sedation agent. When inhaled, it induces feelings of relaxation and mild euphoria, helping patients manage pain and anxiety during procedures. Nitrous oxide works by affecting the brain's neurotransmitters, slowing down nerve signals and producing a calming effect. It’s quick-acting and wears off rapidly once inhalation stops. Aside from medical use, it’s also found in whipped cream canisters and sometimes misused recreationally, which can be dangerous. Proper medical administration ensures safe, effective sedation.
