Lateral Flow Tests

Lateral Flow Tests are simple, rapid diagnostic tools used to detect the presence of specific substances, such as viruses or biomarkers, in a sample like saliva or nasal swab. The test strip contains antibodies that bind to the target substance. When the sample is applied, it flows along the strip by capillary action, and if the target is present, a visible line appears, indicating a positive result. These tests are often used for quick screening because they are easy to perform, provide results in minutes, and don’t require complex laboratory equipment.
