Later Zhou

Later Zhou was a Chinese dynasty that existed from 951 to 960 AD, during a period known as the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. It was the last of the Five Dynasties, which were marked by political instability and power struggles following the collapse of the Tang Dynasty. Later Zhou is recognized for its efforts to restore order and stabilize the region. It was founded by Zhao Kuangyin, who later became Emperor Taizu. His reign focused on consolidating power, promoting military reforms, and laying the foundation for the Song Dynasty, which succeeded Later Zhou.
