Later Tang

The Later Tang (923-936) was a short-lived Chinese dynasty that emerged during the chaotic Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period after the fall of the Tang Dynasty. It was founded by the warlord Li Cunxu and is often noted for its efforts to reunify China. Though it provided a brief return to centralized rule, the Later Tang struggled with internal strife and corruption. Its reign ended when it was overthrown by the Later Jin, showing the ongoing instability of the time. Despite its brief existence, the Later Tang contributed to the cultural and political landscape of medieval China.
