Last Quarter
The Last Quarter, also known as the Waning Quarter, is a lunar phase that occurs about a week after a full moon. During this phase, half of the moon's surface is illuminated and visible from Earth, specifically the left half in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the transition from a full moon to a new moon, meaning the illuminated portion gradually decreases each night. This phase lasts roughly a week and is part of the moon's natural cycle, helping us measure time and understand the moon's changing appearance over approximately 29.5 days.
