LASIK surgery

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a surgical procedure that corrects vision by reshaping the cornea, the eye’s clear front surface. Using a precise laser, the surgeon creates a thin flap on the cornea, lifts it to access the underlying tissue, and then vaporizes a small amount of corneal tissue to alter its shape. This correction improves how light enters the eye, reducing dependence on glasses or contact lenses for nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. The flap is then repositioned, acting as a natural bandage, leading to quick recovery and often significant vision improvement within days.
