Laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT)

Laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) is a precise technique for depositing materials, such as metals, polymers, or biological substances, onto specific areas. It works by using a focused laser pulse to create a tiny, controlled explosion that propels a tiny amount of material from a donor substrate to a target surface. This method allows for high-resolution patterning and is useful in manufacturing electronics, biomedical devices, and microfabrication. LIFT is contactless, minimizes waste, and provides excellent control over the placement and size of the transferred material.
