Laser Fusion

Laser fusion, also known as inertial confinement fusion, is a process that attempts to replicate the sun's energy production by fusing atomic nuclei. In a laboratory setting, powerful lasers focus intense energy onto a small pellet of fusion fuel, typically made of isotopes of hydrogen, causing it to compress and heat dramatically. This extreme environment can force the hydrogen atoms to combine, releasing vast amounts of energy. The ultimate goal is to generate clean and sustainable energy, but achieving and maintaining the necessary conditions for fusion on Earth remains a significant scientific challenge.
