Laser Classes

Laser classes categorize lasers based on their potential to cause harm, mainly focusing on their power output. Class 1 lasers are safe under normal use, posing no risk of eye injury. Class 1M are also safe but may be hazardous if viewed with magnifying devices. Class 2 lasers emit low power, and brief exposure is generally safe, but staring into the beam should be avoided. Class 3 lasers are more powerful; 3R slightly increases risk, while Class 3B can cause eye injury if directly viewed. Class 4 lasers are high-powered and can cause severe eye or skin damage and should be handled with strict safety measures.
