LASCO
LASCO, which stands for Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph, is a specialized instrument aboard the SOHO spacecraft that observes the Sun's outer atmosphere, called the corona. It uses a special telescope and a disk that blocks the bright surface of the Sun, allowing scientists to see and study the faint, extended glow of the corona and any solar eruptions like coronal mass ejections. These observations help us understand solar activity, which can impact space weather, satellite operations, and power grids on Earth.
