Laryngeal stridor

Laryngeal stridor is a high-pitched, noisy sound that occurs during breathing, caused by narrowing or blockage of the voice box (larynx). This narrowing makes it difficult for air to flow freely, resulting in the audible wheezing or raspy sound, especially when inhaling. It can be caused by infections, swelling, allergies, or structural issues. Stridor often indicates an urgent condition affecting breathing, and prompt medical evaluation is important to identify and treat the underlying cause effectively.
