Laryngeal Stenosis
Laryngeal stenosis is a condition where the airway in the voice box (larynx) becomes narrowed, making it harder to breathe. This narrowing can result from injury, surgery, infection, or other medical issues causing scar tissue or swelling. As the airway narrows, airflow is restricted, leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, noisy breathing (stridor), or difficulty speaking. Treatment depends on severity and may include medications, procedures to remove or reduce scar tissue, or surgery to enlarge the airway. Prompt diagnosis and management are important to ensure adequate breathing and prevent complications.
