Larviciding
Larviciding is a method used to control mosquito populations by targeting their early developmental stage, the larvae. It involves applying special chemical or biological agents to water sources where mosquitoes breed, such as ponds, marshes, or standing water containers. These agents are designed to kill the larvae before they mature into adult mosquitoes, helping to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria, dengue, and Zika. Larviciding is an important part of integrated vector management, working alongside other methods like eliminating breeding sites and using insecticide-treated nets.
