Large numbers
Large numbers are values that are extremely big, often beyond everyday experience, like a million (1,000,000) or a billion (1,000,000,000). They help us measure and understand vast quantities such as populations, distances in space, or data storage. While they can seem overwhelming, they are built systematically: each step up involves adding a thousand (e.g., a million is a thousand thousands), and bigger numbers follow similar patterns. Recognizing these patterns makes large numbers manageable, helping us communicate, compare, and interpret huge amounts efficiently in science, economics, and technology.
