laparoscopic anterior resection

Laparoscopic anterior resection is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove cancerous or damaged parts of the lower colon or rectum. Using small incisions, a surgeon inserts a thin, flexible tube with a camera (laparoscope) and specialized surgical instruments. The camera provides a clear view inside the abdomen, allowing the surgeon to carefully cut out the affected section of the bowel. The healthy ends of the remaining colon are then reconnected. This approach often results in less pain, shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery, and fewer complications compared to traditional open surgery.
