Lao Tzu (Laozi)
Lao Tzu, also known as Laozi, was an ancient Chinese philosopher believed to have lived around the 6th century BCE. He is traditionally considered the founder of Taoism, a philosophy emphasizing harmony with the natural world and the fundamental way, or "Tao," that underlies all existence. Lao Tzu's teachings focus on simplicity, humility, and effortless action (wu wei), encouraging people to align with nature’s flow rather than resist it. His famous work, the *Tao Te Ching*, offers wisdom on how to live gently and wisely, fostering balance and inner peace.
