Language Comprehension

Language comprehension is the process by which we understand spoken or written language, involving several cognitive functions. It encompasses recognizing words, grasping their meanings (semantics), and interpreting sentences within context. Our brains connect ideas and prior knowledge to make sense of messages. Factors like syntax (sentence structure) and pragmatics (how context influences meaning) also play significant roles. Essentially, language comprehension is how we make sense of what we hear or read, allowing us to engage in conversation, follow stories, and gain knowledge.
