Land Seismic Surveys
Land seismic surveys are processes used to explore underground rock formations, often to locate oil, gas, or mineral resources. They involve generating controlled energy waves on the Earth's surface, typically with small explosions or specialized vibrators. These waves travel through underground layers and bounce back to the surface, where they are detected by sensitive instruments called geophones. By analyzing the time it takes for the waves to return and their patterns, geologists can create detailed images of subsurface structures. This helps in identifying potential resource deposits without the need for exploratory drilling, reducing risk and cost.
