land seismic survey
A land seismic survey is a method used to explore beneath the Earth's surface to find underground oil, gas, or mineral deposits. It involves generating sound waves on the ground using sources like small explosions or specialized vibrators. These sound waves travel through the earth and reflect back when they hit different underground layers. A network of sensors, called geophones, record these echoes. By analyzing the returned signals, geologists create detailed images of underground structures, helping energy companies decide where to drill or extract resources efficiently and safely.
