Åland Parliament
The Åland Parliament is the legislative body responsible for governing the Åland Islands, an autonomous region of Finland. It consists of 30 members elected by Åland residents every four years. The Parliament makes laws, manages budgets, and oversees regional issues such as education, transportation, and culture, with a high degree of self-governance. While Finland handles foreign relations and defense, Åland has its own legal system and government institutions, reflecting its unique status within Finland. The Parliament plays a central role in preserving Åland’s cultural identity and ensuring local interests are represented.
