Land Cover
Land cover refers to the physical material present on the Earth's surface, such as forests, grasslands, water bodies, urban areas, and deserts. It describes how the land is used or what is on top of it, providing a snapshot of the environment at a specific time. Land cover is important for understanding ecosystems, managing resources, and assessing environmental changes over time. It is different from land use, which focuses on how humans utilize land; land cover simply describes what physically exists on the land’s surface.
