La Batalla de los Ángeles

The Battle of the Angels, also known as the Battle of Los Ángeles, was a notable incident during a massive 1930s air raid hysteria in Los Angeles. On February 25-26, 1942, wartime fears led to a widespread anti-aircraft drill where city defenses mistakenly targeted what they believed were enemy aircraft—later found to be only weather balloons and stars. Despite no actual attack occurring, the event reflects wartime paranoia and miscommunication. It remains a significant example of how fear and misinformation can lead to large-scale, unintended military responses.
