L'Étranger

*L'Étranger* ("The Stranger") by Albert Camus explores themes of absurdity and existentialism through the story of Meursault, a detached Algerian man. After his mother's death, he reacts indifferently, and later, he kills an Arab man without clear motive. His indifferent attitude toward life and morality leads to his execution. The novel examines how societal expectations clash with personal indifference, questioning life's meaning and the nature of justice. Camus presents life as inherently absurd, suggesting that embracing this reality without illusions can lead to authentic existence.
