László Rajk

László Rajk was a Hungarian communist leader and politician, active mainly in the 1940s and early 1950s. He helped rebuild Hungary after World War II and served as the country's foreign minister. However, during Stalin's influence, Rajk was accused of being a Western spy and was later convicted of treason in a secret trial. He was executed in 1949. His downfall reflected the political purges typical of the era’s communist regimes. After Stalin’s death, him and other victims were posthumously rehabilitated, highlighting the complexities of Cold War politics and authoritarian justice.
