Kuya Shōnin

Kuya Shōnin was a revered Buddhist monk from Japan during the Kamakura period (1185–1333). Known for his scholarly pursuits and dedication to teaching, he played a key role in spreading Pure Land Buddhism, a popular tradition emphasizing faith in Amitabha Buddha for salvation.
