Kutuzov was a prominent Russian military leader during the Napoleonic Wars, best known for commanding Russian forces during the 1812 invasion by Napoleon. He adopted a strategic approach called "scorched earth," retreating and destroying resources to weaken the enemy. Instead of seeking direct confrontation, Kutuzov prioritized delaying Napoleon’s advance, causing his army to weaken over time.
