Kutch Desert
The Kutch Desert, also known as the Rann of Kutch, is a vast salt marsh located in Gujarat, India. It covers an area of about 7,500 square kilometers and features a unique landscape of white, saline plains that appear like a shimmering sea, especially during the dry season. The terrain is characterized by expansive salt flats, seasonal wetlands, and sparse vegetation. It is home to diverse wildlife, including migratory birds and the locally significant Indian wild ass. The region is also famous for the Rann Utsav festival, celebrating local culture and crafts amidst this surreal, expansive land.
