Kurukshetra (Battle of)

The Battle of Kurukshetra is a legendary conflict described in the Indian epic Mahabharata, fought around 5,000 years ago. It was a massive, decisive war between two groups of cousins—the Pandavas and the Kauravas—over rightful throne and dharma (duty). The battlefield, located in present-day Haryana, India, became a symbol of moral and ethical struggles. The war lasted 18 days, involving complex strategies, valor, and profound moral dilemmas. It culminated in victory for the Pandavas, but at a great human and emotional cost, illustrating themes of righteousness, justice, and the consequences of conflict.
